The new exhibition by Jaroslava Bičovská bears the Latin title Vivat laetitia, which means: Long live joy and well-being! This is exactly what the set of exhibited paintings and drawings exudes - authentic joy of life, perception of the beauty around us. In her works, the author uses a brush or ink to capture traces of everyday life, such as a view through a window into her own garden or the picturesque surroundings of her native Brandýs. There is also space for oil abstractions, dynamic compositions in bright, vibrant colours and solid lines. Lightness and comfort are one of the essential characteristics of her paintings. The exhibition is accompanied by an excerpt from the time-lapse documentary film Quiet Water, which was made between 2014 and 2019 and presents the life and work of this artist.
